On Call for Change
Learn • Prepare • Advocate
At On Call for Change, we believe experience, clinical, professional, and lived, is one of the most powerful drivers of change. Maternal health professionals, lived experience experts, and emerging advocates bring critical insight that deserves to be present in every space where decisions about care, policy, and systems are made. Our mission is to ensure these voices are prepared, supported, and positioned to lead.
On Call for Change primarily serves maternal health professionals seeking the tools, strategy, and support to strengthen their advocacy and policy engagement. We also work with organizations and institutions advancing maternal health initiatives by providing advocacy training, policy preparation, and strategic consulting. In addition, we intentionally support lived experience experts and students who are ready to develop their voice and engage responsibly in systems-level change.
Through structured education, workshops, consulting, and advocacy engagement opportunities, On Call for Change prepares individuals and organizations to enter policy discussions, legislative briefings, advocacy days, and community conversations with clarity and confidence ensuring participation is informed, strategic, and impactful.
On Call for Change prepares maternal health professionals and organizations to engage in effective advocacy and policy work, while actively advancing efforts to improve maternal health outcomes. Through structured training, strategic consulting, and real-world readiness, we equip professionals to enter decision-making spaces informed, confident, and prepared to influence systems.
We envision a maternal health landscape where professionals are prepared to lead advocacy efforts, engage policy responsibly, and shape systems that support safe, equitable, and informed care for all families.
On Call for Change actively engages in maternal health advocacy by supporting policy education, coalition participation, and real-world advocacy efforts that strengthen professional voices and contribute to improved maternal health outcomes.
Founder + CEO
I'm Imani Bradford.
I founded On Call for Change after repeatedly witnessing a critical gap in maternal health advocacy spaces: the voices of those closest to the work clinicians, birth workers, and lived experience experts were often absent or underprepared to fully engage. Effective advocacy requires both firsthand insight and strategic readiness, and On Call for Change exists to bridge that gap.
In less than a year, I built Solo Stork into a recognized maternal health initiative supporting single pregnant women and mothers. My advocacy work has included speaking at the Pennsylvania State Capitol, contributing to policy roundtables and press conferences, and partnering with organizations such as March of Dimes and Maternity Care Coalition. I also serve on regional maternal health action teams working to implement Maternal Mortality Review Committee (MMRC) recommendations focused on preventing maternal deaths.
Professionally, I work as a Nurse Manager and am a Licensed Practical Nurse. My background includes hands-on clinical leadership, systems-level care coordination, and translating medical knowledge into advocacy and policy strategy. I have worked with the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, supporting constituent services, project management, and community-based policy engagement.
My work is grounded in lived experience as a mother who nearly lost her life to postpartum preeclampsia and as a single parent navigating the healthcare system. Across advocacy, consulting, and education, my focus remains clear: to bridge science, policy, and lived experience in ways that prepare professionals and organizations to drive meaningful, lasting change in maternal health.
Our network is open to all health professionals and those passionate about health equity: nurses, physicians, public health leaders, doulas, midwives, researchers, educators, students, lived experience experts, mothers/fathers, and advocates. All are welcome!
No. While we have strong roots in maternal health, our programs and coaching apply to all areas of healthcare advocacy and leadership.
We are an ecosystem for growth in advocacy. We equip maternal health professionals with the tools, strategy, and credential backing to confidently influence change. Our approach blends networking, storytelling, and data-driven strategy, ensuring advocates don’t just speak up but truly make an impact.
Not at all. Many of our members start with just one spark, whether it was a clinical day on a labor unit or a personal birth experience. We meet you where you are and help you grow into a strong voice for maternal health.
